Alrighty
Alright...well it's been awhile since I last posted. I Haven't had much to talk about because I've been sick. Sick...hmm that's something to talk about. I thought I was doing well and then I got a head cold and it doesn't seem to want to go away, which is quite annoying. I can't complain because there was some stomach virus going around and I heard it was absolutely awful. I suppose I'm thankful for not getting that, ugh!
To go on with the singing topic....I had a voice lesson while I was sick,THAT was fun, not really! It felt like I was singing with my head in a jar. Ha! What an image that brings to mind. I managed to not sound too awful...poor Kristen haha. Oh well, hopefully this next lesson will be a bit better.
Hope you all are doing well and not sick!

Florence and the Machine...enough said
Florence and the Machine have been around for a bit, but I'm realizing the more I listen to them how amazing they are. I love the group, I love their instruments, I love everything about them. I find it interesting that none of their music is similar in any way shape or form. Florence has such a powerful voice that just makes me want to sing my heart out. She has a lot of passion in her voice and you can tell she loves what she does. I'm excited to learn more about her and this band. I would like to see where they came from and they started. Her lyrics are also, strange and haunting, but also powerful and uplifting. The album can bring out so many emotions in you that it can be a little overwhelming. I Hope to be able to bring out people's emotions with my music.
To have the courage to stand up and sing in front of millions of people is so thrilling to me. I wish I could get enough courage to sing in front of people and enjoy it instead of standing there wanting to die and thinking only of my mistakes. I'm getting closer to that feeling of loving what I do. I'm hoping this group will inspire me enough to be open about my feelings and my thoughts. I would love to be able to put all of my expeirences onto paper for a song. I've tried that and failed miserably, but as they say practice makes perfects. Sooo true.

Something new...
Well it seems like every month something new comes up. I am starting to sing at the local Catholic church. Hopefully, soon they will have me start singing at funerals and weddings, so that I can get paid. This whole process with singing at church's has been fun. I enjoy performing for the people at these church's because they truly listen to the music and enjoy it. It makes me feel as if I am a part of something and allows me to feel important, which is always nice, haha.
On another note, I take lessons and do performathon's and recently had to back out of one, which was a little sad. I am working on a piece by Bach called, Aus Liebe Will Mein Heiland Sterben. I didn't realize how complicated the piano part is because I don't play the piano and once I started working with the piano part, it felt like learning the piece all over again. It was very frustrating, but I realized I could definitely not put it together in a half hour for following weekend. But, I will be performing it in the spring and I am very excited because, by then it will have come together nicely. I've been itching to do something that will really show my talents for awhile and this will definitely be the piece to do that.

Hello world!
Hello all,
Here it is, my first blog. Let me introduce myself, I am a singer...if you couldn't tell. I am hoping to jump into the world of singing. So far it seems to be gigs at church's and doing recitals every now and then. We'll see where it takes me. It seems to be that I have to move on to another part of the world to get somewhere. That is the plan...eventually.
